Terpsis Chorou hosts an experiential dance workshop titled Ancient Body – An Introduction to Dance from Antiquity with Arsinoe Lily Karadima, founder of the Chorosophy Academy of Ancient Dance, choreographer and Artistic Director of the Atrapos Dance & Arts Company, and invites you to register your participation.
What might dance have been like in ancient times?
What did it feel like, and why was it such an important part of life?
In this experiential workshop, we will approach dance from its source, inspired by ancient texts, pottery imagery, myths, and living tradition.
Because “ancient” does not mean old or outdated — it leads us back to the Origin, where movement, rhythm, and expression begin. Through simple exercises and creative exploration of movement, participants will discover qualities of ancient dance such as the Lyrical, Doric, and Dionysian, explore group dance formations, and move with objects such as veils, percussion instruments, and the thyrsus.
No previous dance experience is required.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, March 28, with a duration of 2.5 hours, 17:00 - 19:30.
Reserve your place here.
